Isle of Wight Golf Alliance
The Isle of Wight Golf Alliance, formed in 1921, consists of golfers from all affiliated clubs on the Island who throughout the year compete for individual trophies and honours with points being awarded for success towards the Alliance Shield.
The Isle of Wight Golf Alliance is an inclusive group and hold event on all Island courses during the year.
Members compete in a friendly but competitive manner in Singles, Pairs & Team competition.
It is considered that the IWGA contribute to the promotion of golf on the Island in a positive way by providing the opportunity for members to compete against golfers from other Island clubs.
Both Handicap and Scratch events cater for our membership which ranges from a maximum WHS handicap to scratch and plus handicap players.
Most competitions are held on Sundays with the AGM and Presentation Dinner concluding events in January / February
Membership
Membership of the Isle of Wight Golf Alliance is open to all male members of Island Clubs including Juniors and Seniors. We are unique on the Island as an organisation able to provide competitive and friendly golf for all male members of Island Clubs on all Island courses across the season.
